VA Dems: You're Treading on Dangerous Ground

Gun confiscation plans might sound great in your NoVA bourgie enclaves, but you're sharing a state with both the Appalachian and the Southern sub-cultures, neither of which is going to take kindly to any unconstitutional attempt to seize people's private property.

Also? You don't know how the VANG works - at all. Nor do you know who's actually serving in the VANG (or in law enforcement, for that matter). Like I said a couple months ago when it was Beto threatening to take our guns:

"Your soldiers won't obey. Most of those folks - thanks to their professional knowledge of firearms and general contact with our fallen reality - tend to be passionate about gun rights. They also tend to be patriotic as hell. They're not going to accept orders that flagrantly violate the Constitution; they took an oath, in fact, not to do such a thing."

But thanks to your threats, you wannabe despots, this right here is the current mood of all liberty-loving Virginians (click the jump for the memery):

And yes, this tweet has it exactly right:

Seriously: do you want a second Civil War? Because this seems like a pretty effective way to start one.

  1. What are the bills they're talking about passing? I thought I saw once, but stuff changes.

There was the one making it illegal, a felony, to teach any form of martial art if the people seeking instruction were preparing for civil unrest. Who would even dare offer instruction?

    1. They're pushing for standard gun-grabber stuff, like "assault weapons" bans and red flag laws. But since the rural counties have all indicated their intention to rebel, the VA Dems have also threatened to cut off funding to rural areas - and to send in the troops.

    2. "Who would even dare offer instruction?"

All branches of the military and all law enforcement.

    3. They cut off your funding..... You cut off their food and energy.

As the folks in Nawlins' said during the 1970's energy crisis, "Let the bastards freeze in the dark."

  2. Reminds me of a song I learned back in elementary school, back when patriotism was still taught:
    "Why come ye hither Redcats?
    Your mind what madness fills?
In our valleys there is danger,
And there's danger on our hills,
For the rifle, for the rifle,
In our hands will prove no trifle"

I seriously don't think they understand the challenges of attempting to enforce those laws; I suspect Sisyphus had it easier.

  3. When the folks down in Richmond start seizing our guns I rather think that these folks are going to feel they are in a shooting gallery. Never play by the other sides rules, hit them where they are weak. See how long they support these policies when they pay for it in blood.

  4. ...this is how it starts, how it ends will be far, far worse than ANYONE actually thinks. 30 men with scoped rifles sitting on each major road into Arlington/DC & Richmond could shut down the trucking industry. Throw in a couple of blown rail lines and in 5 weeks all three areas would be starving.

    That's all it would take.

    1. Please don't shoot the truckers. Given the option, truckers would prefer to put those trailers sideways across the highways rather than get shot.

    2. Waging war on the transportation industry sounds like a good way to convince the rest of America and the world that you are nothing but a bunch of evil terrorists. If you want to maintain any sort of patriotic image, you may want to re-think your tactics.

    3. Hey, Richard: remind me again how many times George Washington was referred to as "Father of his Country" in the British Army's Officers Mess.

    4. Mark, all the truckers have to do not to get shot is stay off those roads.

    5. Hey SDN, Rich Vail's proposal is much more like John Brown at Harper's Ferry than like anything George Washington ever did. Even a righteous cause doesn't excuse stupidity.

  5. The best way to stop it is with your VOTE. England just proved that in a big way. Very proud of the english people.

  6. Stop it with our vote? The way we stopped the Democrats in 2016? The ones who are trying to impeach Trump because 'Orange Man Bad'? There is less and less confidence that our vote means anything to the Democrats - it certainly means nothing to large parts of the federal bureaucracy.

  7. More importantly, given the usual pattern of statewide elections. . the Dems already have the fix in, and have had it there for over a decade. Why else does urban Alexandria and Hampton Roads fail to report, until the rest of the state is in, and, suddenly, it goes from GOP ahead, to the Dems winning by a comfortable margin. .

  8. Someone needs to tell this Yankee what the term "boogaloo" means in this context.

    1. Boogaloo; fight, rumble, battle.

Probably rumble is the closest in semi modern idiom.

  9. Richard, perhaps you should be asking the gun grabbers to calm down. They are the ones expressing an interest in going outside the Constitution to achieve their rather dubious ends.

  10. they think we will back down or be afraid of them. I don't feel it this time. its usually old guys whining about their rights. this time its young, old, women, men, everybody. and when blackface offered a "deal" nobody at all bought it. I haven't heard one person say compromise, or vote. I hear them talking openly about fighting for our rights. everybody thinks this is our last chance, or last stand. they will bend no more. that said, reel it in mr. vail. don't make enemies of truckers or the other good people who are likely behind us, that includes the guard. "SARGE, HOW WILL I PICK OUT THE ENEMY?..HE"LL BE THE ONE SHOOTING AT YOU."

  11. Have you forgotten the two gentlemen of color who had the DC area paralyzed with fear because of their sniper activities....just two peeps....imagine 200.

  12. I definitely don't approve of targeting people - like truckers - who are probably on our side. But perhaps VA farmers can just forget to deliver their produce to bourgie NoVA farmer's markets. Oopsie!
